Worked example
Decimal odds of 2.50 pay back 2.50 for every 1 staked if the bet wins (stake included). In the other formats:
1 ÷ 2.50 = 40.0% · 2.50 − 1 = 1.50 = 3/2 · (2.50 − 1) × 100 = +150
In fractional that's 3/2 and in American +150. The implied probability is 40.0%: the operator's price, not the real probability.
Which format do licensed operators in Portugal use?

Is the implied probability the real probability?
No. It's what the price implies, with the operator's margin included. The real probability of an outcome isn't known.
